inHEART Selected to Participate in Groundbreaking French Consortium to Advance Digital Twins in Healthcare

JANUARY 11, 2023 – Cambridge, MA and Pessac, France – inHEART, a privately-held medical device company delivering the world’s most advanced, AI-enabled, digital twin of the heart, announced today that it has been selected to participate in the MEDITWIN consortium: a multidisciplinary effort in France to evaluate and accelerate the use of personalized digital twins to improve patient care in neurology, cardiology, and oncology. MEDITWIN draws on the expertise of world-class partners in healthcare and industry including seven university hospitals and associated start-ups as well as industry leader, Dassault Systèmes (OTCMKTS: DASTY) with the goal of delivering safer, more accessible healthcare for all.

“Virtual twins have already enabled the industrial world to transform in a more sustainable way,” stated Bernard Charles, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Systèmes. “This technology is now opening new possibilities for healthcare by unlocking the mysteries of the human body – understanding and representing the invisible. For 40 years, Dassault Systèmes has pioneered virtual twins, and we can apply our knowledge and expertise to transform medical practice. The MEDITWIN public-private alliance is a breakthrough because it mobilizes the best of medicine, science, and technology to serve the health of the future. The virtual twin is already a reality, MEDITWIN will help to standardize and disseminate it throughout the world for the benefit of millions of patients.”

The MEDITWIN initiative will span 5 years from 2024-2029 and will be financially supported by the French government. The consortium will evaluate the benefits of digital twins for clinicians, patients, and the healthcare system with a particular focus on improving the efficiency of care, the quality of multidisciplinary decisions, and the effectiveness and safety of medical treatments and interventions. Seven new medical practices will be developed from the virtual twins, in neurology, cardiology and oncology. This will result in seven "virtual healthcare products" that will be deployed on a sovereign industrial cloud platform.

“At inHEART, we are excited to be part of MEDITWIN and on the forefront of the digital health transformation,” said Todor Jeliaskov, CEO of inHEART. “Within MEDITWIN, inHEART will focus on the prevention of sudden cardiac death, which takes more than 800,000 lives each year. We need to move our healthcare systems from reacting to acute complications to preventing complications. Digital technologies and artificial intelligence are accelerating this process.”
